5000+ ODI runs in home soil

International cricket is not an easy to place to perform or outperform your peers or your seniors who already have plastered their work on a high level by performing with pressure and competition in their minds.

However, their are some cricketers who made playing cricket so easy that, we can only marvel and admire their stats, Yes there will be always difference about how times, rules and overall structure of international cricket had changed in all these years, still it is not only the numbers we are talking about, but it's also the desire, passion, hardwork these guys kept into their minds and a will to outperform each other.

The cricketers with 5000 ODI runs in home soil

4. Jacques Kallis - one of the best All rounder from South Africa who is also one of the best batsman of  World Cricket, he has given his services to Proteas national team for two decades and he is one of the best No.3 batsman as per me.

A great batsman, handy medium pacer (who has a knack of getting breakthroughs at crucial times), and also a good fielder, Kallis was a total package, he was brilliant in both the longest and shortest format of the game and when he started playing in T20s he has proved his worth in that format too.

Overall in his career,  Kallis has made 13,279 test runs (166 matches, average -55.37, 45 centuries 58 half centuries, 292 wickets, bowling average - 32.65), 11,579 ODI runs (328 matches, average - 44.36, 17 centuries 86 half centuries, 273 wickets, bowling average - 31.79).

Kallis has scored 5186 ODI runs in home soil it took him 130 innings to reach to that figures.

3. Ricky Ponting - The  talismaic batsmen from Australia who both as a captain and a batsman left records which has left us with nothing but in admiration, I believe that Ricky Ponting supremacy as a batsman overshadows his capabilities as a skipper, it's also a fact that Ponting was blessed with a team of talented cricketers who can change the state of a match by their brilliant performances.

However, I believe that Australia dominance of world cricket was majorly due to runs came from Ponting's bat.

Overall Ponting has Made 13,378 runs in test cricket (168 test matches) with the stunning average of 51.85 and he scored 41 centuries and 62 half centuries, in ODIS he made 13,704 runs (375 matches), at home soil Ponting has scored 5,521 ODI runs in 138 innings.

2. Sachin Tendulkar -The Master Blaster, the run machine from India, Sachin is the highest run scorer in both longest and 50 overs format of the game.

He has stamped his authority in international cricket in such a way that people will remember his name for a long long time.

Sachin has served Indian cricket for 24 years, he is the only player to score more than 30,000 runs in all forms of international cricket.

Overall, Sachin has scored 15,921 runs in test cricket (200 matches, average - 53.78, with staggering 51 centuries and 68 half centuries) and 18,426 runs in ODIs (463 matches, average - 44.83, with stunning 49 centuries and 96 half centuries) both are still the highest runs in international cricket.

Sachin has scored 5000 runs in 121th innings and he scored 6976 Odi runs in home soil.

1. Virat Kohli -  The man , the run scoring machine, his hunger for runs and determination to be at top of his game made him a batsman of another level.

Records  just become numbers for this guys as he breached almost every milestone what was set bet before him.

Kohli has scored a ton of numbers in international cricket so far and he has still have some distance to cover in international cricket and it is likely that by the end of his international career he will be sitting on mountain of runs and more records under his name.

Kohli is the latest entrant in this '5000+ Odi runs in home soil' club and if everything goes smoothly he will score more runs as well in future.

Overall, Kohli has scored 7,962 runs in test matches (99 matches, average - 50.39, 27 centuries and 28 half centuries), 12,285 runs in ODIs (250 matches, average - 58.78, 43 centuries and 64 half centuries) and 3,296 in T20is (97 matches, average - 52.50, with 30 half centuries).

It took Virat only 96 innings to score 5000+ runs in home soil, he is so far the quickest batsman to reach at these figures, as of now Kohli has scored 5020 Odi runs in home soil.

This are the legends who are already made their presence felt in both their home and international cricket and they're not set in any particular order, Kohli is on one because he is the latest batsman to reach the figures.
