Consecutively defeatiing Australia in their home

India has defeated Australia in consecutive test series(2018–19 & 2020–21), only England (1884–85, 1886–87,1887–88, 1928–29 &1932–33), West Indies ( 1984–85, 1988–89 & 1992–93), South Africa (2008–09, 2012–13 & 2016–17) are the teams who successively defeated Australia in their home.

Total players used

India used 20 different and Australia used 14 different players in the series, this is the third time that 34 different players have participated in a Test series between Australia and India played Down Under.

Last time when India used 20 or more players in a Test series was in the series in West Indies in 1970-71 where Sunil Gavasker made his International debut

India used 20 different players through out the series.

India has used 10 different Bowlers whereas, Aussies had the same bowling attack through out the series.

Day-night test match

The test series started with a Day-night test match, which was India's first day-night test match overseas and overall second day night test match for Indian cricket team, After winning the match Australia maintained their 100% win record in day-night test matches.

A record no team should look for

After India were Allout for 36 in Adelaide, it also created some records, It was India's lowest score in test matches, lowest total in Adelaide Oval, lowest total in day- night test matches.

A captain's innings

After Virat Kohli's leave, Rahane LED team India, he scored a magnificent century (112 runs) , it was Rahane's first century as India's Test captain, in the process he also became only the second Indian captain to score a Test hundred at Melbourne, Sachin Tendulkar was the first Indian captain to score a test century in 1999–00 and also Tendulkar and Rahane are the only Indian captains to win Man of the Match awards in Tests in Melbourne.

The waiting game

Steve Smith scored 131 in Australia's first innings in Sydney, but before this Smith had gone 14 innings without a three-figure score,

Smith also brought up his half-centuries in rather very slow manner, in first he scored it in 116 balls, in second innings he took 134 balls - which would be his two slowest half-centuries in Tests against India. His previous slowest half-century against India was off 111 balls.

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 196-ball half-century in the final innings in Brisbane which would also be his slowest half-century in his Test career, He also faced 928 deliveries (scored 262) - the most faced by any batsman from either team in this series, in the last test series (2018–19) he faced 1258 deliveries (scored 521).

The new star

Mohammed Siraj, who made his debut in the second Test in Melbourne, had finish the series as India's leading wicket-taker , he took 13 wickets through out the series. Only two other Indian quick bowlers have taken more wickets in a debut Test series, Venkatesh Prasad Vs. England in 1996 (15 wickets), Jasprit Bumrah Vs. South Africa in 2017–18.

Pant's knock

In the fourth innings of Brisbane test Pant not only he scored winning runs, but scored his slowest fifty in test matches, broke MS Dhoni's record by becoming the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to score 1000 Test runs (in 27 test matches), he scored 274 runs, and finished the Test series as India's highest run-getter; he also now has the most test runs in Australia among Indian wicketkeepers (624 runs with the average of 62.40) and just behind England's wicket keeper Alan Knott (643 runs with the average of 33.84) who has scored more runs by any visiting wicket-keeper in Australia.

And lastly

India hasn't been defeated by Australia in any test series after 2014–15, This is India's third consecutive series win against Australia. India won the Border Gavaskar Trophy after winning the series at home in 2016-17

, followed that up with a maiden series win in Australia in 2018-19

, considering that opposition team is Australia Isn't that a big achievement to have.
